This month, the Lake Houston Gardeners will try something a little different: we will be making a craft during
the meeting with Rica Brock, a self described “avid gardener, crafter, recycler, upcycler and tree hugger”. The meeting will be on Monday, November 11, at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Kingwood. We will begin at 6:30p.m. with refreshments, at 7 we will get into our craft and have a plant exchange, all in the same meeting!
Recently, a group of gardeners went to Old Town Spring to a store which creates amazing jewelry and other from materials that have been previously used for other purposes. Although our club craft will not be nearly so ambitious, it will use natural materials and left over craft items from the craftier among our club members.
Rica Brock is a member of Jesse Jones Park Volunteers and leads a monthly nature craft class. She is Master Naturalist, a member of Lake Forest Garden Club, and a retired CPA. Everyone will be taking home an item that can be an ornament or a package decoration. If you don’t like it, you can say your grandchild gave it to you.
