Lake Houston Gardeners had a perfect day for the field trip to Arborgate Nursery and Bernhardt Winery recently. Our bus was able to accommodate all of our plant purchases (barely) , and the winery was generous with the samples. Thanks to Joy Fields and Margaret Molloy for taking these photographs.
We also had a very well attended meeting last Monday, with John Mims talking about bluebirds and how to attract them to our gardens; refreshments were tasty as always, and we had a huge plant exchange.
Watch for news about our next event, our annual holiday party on Monday, December 13. Be sure to smile when the camera comes around!

I sure miss all my gardening friends in Kingwood! Crazy as it sounds when I moved to North Carolina I went from a patio home to a half acre lot. No I will not you’re crazy with plantings – I promised my hands! However with this being a city of Trees my lot has very few especially in front so I am very busy buying buying and planting trees! Their fall here has been especially colorful and the best in many many years I’m told by the locals so I have gone hoarse oooing n awiinnng. Unfortunately I have a dear situation here and learning to cope though I did buy copious amounts of bulbs that I have been wanting to grow for decades so I guess I’ll be spending many sleepless nights with my shotgun. Will miss the holiday party so much. Happy holidays to everyone
