The Lake Houston Gardeners will have the monthly meeting on Monday, October 9 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Kingwood. The speaker will be Marti Zuber, president of the Houston Hemerocallis Society, who will talk about that garden favorite–daylilies. The meeting starts with refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program and then a plant exchange.
Gardening has been a lifelong hobby for gardening. In addition to his enthusiasm for daylilies, he also has a yard full of plumerias and a large variety of semitropicals. “Gardening should be fun” is his motto. It should be a fun evening.
There are still some jams, jellies and sauces from the OFE summer crops available for folks who want them. Also, members will be able to sign up for the field trip on October 27. And a reminder: it’s time to pay dues for 2023-24. Single membership is $25 and couples membership is $30 by cash or check.
