Don’t get snake bit, with Dr. Greene

Spencer Greene, MD, MS, FACEP, FACMT, FAACT, FAAEM

One of the foremost experts on treating bites from snakes and other venomous creatures will speak to the Lake Houston Gardeners at their next monthly meeting on Monday, March 11. Dr. Spencer Greene is an emergency medicine physician at Kingwood Hospital. He founded the Bayou City Medical Toxicology and Emergency Medicine Consultants in 2019 to help physicians and other healthcare professionals provide better care of patients with toxicological emergencies.  He frequently speaks to Houston area lay people about ways to treat bites from venomous critters found in the Texas Gulf Coast.

The monthly meeting will be Monday, March 11, starting at 6:30p.m. with social time, followed by the program at 7 p.m. 

Dr. Greene currently serves as the Director of Toxicology and an attending emergency physician at HCA Houston Healthcare-Kingwood. He is a Clinical Professor at the University of Houston College of Medicine. He also has faculty appointments in the University of Texas Cizik School of Nursing and in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.  He is the primary author or co-author of 54 articles in peer reviewed journals.
